Course Overview
The Electrical Safety Awareness Course provides workers with a solid grounding in electrical hazard recognition and safe behaviour. It is designed for anyone who works near electrical systems, switchboards, cables, or electrical equipment as part of their regular duties — even if they are not electricians themselves.
The course is structured around Singapore's Electricity Act and EMA safety guidelines, and is delivered by our practising EMA-licensed engineers. Participants leave with practical knowledge they can apply immediately on the job.
Who requires this course? Under the Workplace Safety and Health Act, employers must ensure workers performing tasks near electrical hazards have the knowledge to do so safely. This course meets that requirement for non-licensed staff.

Course Outline
Morning Session
Introduction to electrical hazards — properties of electricity, shock, arc flash, fire. Singapore Electricity Act overview. Safe work distances and PPE requirements.
Practical Module
Hazard identification exercise — participants identify electrical risks in workplace scenario photographs. Group discussion on real incident case studies.
Emergency Response
Electrical fire response, electric shock casualty management, emergency isolation procedures, and how to call for emergency assistance safely.
Assessment
Short written assessment (multiple choice). Participants who pass receive their Certificate of Completion, recognised for regulatory compliance purposes.
